Sodium Ruthenium Nitrite, 4NaNO2.2Ru(NO2)3
Sodium Ruthenium Nitrite, 4NaNO2.2Ru(NO2)3.4H2O, is obtained in an analogous manner to the potassium salt. It yields orange-yellow, dichroic crystals which are easily soluble in water. They effloresce upon exposure to air, and at 110° C. become anhydrous.
