Ruthenium Disulphide, RuS2

Ruthenium Disulphide, RuS2, is formed by allowing hydrogen sulphide and potassium chlor-ruthenate solution to react at 80° to 90° C. when it is obtained as a black precipitate. When dry it explodes violently if warmed in air.
